My flagship books (the ones nearest and dearest to my heart) are those in the Emaleen Andarsan Series.
Before writing this series, I had wished to write a book and had attempted to do so many times. It wasn’t until this story idea came to me in a dream that I succeeded.
When I started The Peerless Seer, the first book in the series, I only had Emaleen in mind and felt like I knew her and her journey in general. The other characters and story line developed from there. In developing the story, I consulted with my children on many a car ride to some activity or special excursion. This made the story even more special and dear to my heart.
As I wrote, there were many times that I doubted myself. However, somehow I kept going. Eventually, out came the first draft, and after I was over the initial shock at having written a 90K story, there were many, many revisions to follow. Additionally, there were many hard lessons to still learn, and likely some still to come my way.
I am currently in the process of writing the fourth book in the series, which is not yet titled. In all, I intend to write at least 5 books for the series and I have some plot twists/surprises in these later books in the series that create some dilemmas for Emaleen.
In writing this series, I wanted to do more than just tell a story. I wanted to include some concepts that would promote mindful thinking and values, and inspire some conversations. Hopefully, I have achieved that and readers enjoy this series as much as I, along with my two children (who helped with some ideas), enjoyed creating it.
Although I had intended to work only on this series and not start any other books until I had finished, some other ideas created some detours along the way. As a result, I have other works published, including Janetta and the Book Thief, Ezabella and the Wish Orb, and Hunted: A Werewolf Mystery.
As for the future, I intend to continue self-published books. However, I may seek a traditional publisher for a work that I have written but have not yet published and some other future works. I believe a person must always keep his or her options open and possibly travel down more than one road. If I do, I will continue to release works through both channels.
If you want to learn more about me or connect with me, I am on social media in many different places. I have a blog, three Facebook pages (one under a different pen name), three Twitter handles (one under the different pen name), and one Instagram account. My links are provided below.
